Jewelry Care
Fashion, Fine, Demi-Fine and Piercing Collection Pieces:
*Due to the nature of the artistry in our jewelry, slight variations may occur.
*Due to natural variation, no two stones or pieces of jewelry will look exactly alike
Caring for your Pamela Love Fine pieces can be simple and easy when remembering a few things.
Remove your jewelry during certain activities such as cleaning, swimming and exercising. Avoid letting your jewelry come into contact with harsh household chemicals like hairspray and chlorine, and make sure to store your jewelry in a safe dry place. Storing your pieces individually in soft pouches can help to avoid scuffs and scratches as well.
If your PL Fine and 14k gold piercing pieces need to be cleaned, you can use a mild soap and warm water with a soft toothbrush.
Please note that certain stones are more delicate than others. Opals, Turquoise and Pearls need some extra attention to keep them in their best condition. Turquoise, for example, should not be cleaned with a brush but a soft cloth or even your finger. Opals can easily crack or damage from extreme changes in temperature, and pearls should be stored flat and separate from other objects that may scratch their surface. A good wipe down of your stones after wear can also help to avoid any buildup of oils or other substances. Do not expose your Opals, Turquoise, and Pearls to alcohol and chemical based substances such as hand sanitizer and perfume. As with perfumes and hairspray, the alcohol in hand sanitizer can change the surface of your delicate stones. With exposure to these chemicals, the two noticeable differences being a loss of luster and a change in color.
Lastly, don’t forget to insure your PL Fine pieces!
Silver and Brass Pieces:
To increase the longevity of your jewels, you can treat and care for your Pamela Love fashion jewelry just as we recommend for Pamela Love Fine and Piercing.
Silver and Brass jewelry can scratch, and lose its shine over time with wear and can be polished with a jewelry cloth. Please do not try to polish gold plated jewelry as it will remove the plating.
* Please note that some people can have an allergy to brass which can leave a temporary tint on the skin. This happens more commonly with brass rings as the metal can be very flush against the skin. If this occurs, please reach out to us for solutions.
To Store All Your Jewelry:
To care for the jewelry and refrain from tarnishing, store them in a dry area. The smallest amount of moisture in the air can lead to tarnishing, so store the jewelry in a jewelry box or pouch. You can also place an anti-tarnish strip in the jewelry box or pouch for further protection. If the jewelry comes in contact with water, perfume, sweat, or any other form of moisture, be sure to wipe and dry the piece. Another great tip is to use a protection spray that will preserve the jewelry. By following these steps, the piece will not tarnish and look forever new.
